Nathan Singletary Sr.
Nathan is currently employed at General Dynamics as a purchasing contractor and as a Realtor in Boston, MA
He has been weightlifting for 29 years.
As a teenager, Nathan always thought about bodybuilding after seeing the famous wrestler and bodybuilder Tony Atlas one day on television. He's been in the gym ever since.
When he joined the Military in 1984, Nathan got a chance to travel the world and see different techniques of weightlifters, power lifters and bodybuilders. In 1994 he received his Personal Trainers certification and became a Physical Fitness Instructor for the Navy and a personal trainer at local gyms.
With all his military duties and transferring from different duty stations every couple of years it was hard to dedicate the necessary time for bodybuilding training.
When Nathan retired, he knew it was time for him to go after his dream of competing. Nathan knew that he trained hard in the gym when it came to weightlifting, but he was missing a key element that, which was the proper diet. That's when he found his nutritionist Dave Lyford of Cape Cod Nutrition.
Dave put him on a diet that got him to the leanest he has ever been his whole adult life. It also changed his eating lifestyle completely.
Nathan's very first competition, he placed first in the Novice division and second in the Men's Open Heavyweight.
It's truly a positive lifestyle change for him.
Nathan's training schedule:
Day 1 - Legs Day 2 - Back, Biceps and shoulders w/ 30 minute cardio Day 3 - Chest, Triceps w/ 30 minute cardio Day 4 - Legs Day 5 - Back, Biceps and shoulders w/ 30 minute cardio Day 6 - Chest, Triceps w/ 30 minute cardio Day 7 - Rest
I have competed with Nathan on stage and have judged him several times over the years. He's a great competitor and always hits the stage in great shape. Nathan has a pair of the best legs you will ever see on such a tall competitor. They are truly amazing.
Congratulations to Nathan for winning his IFPA Masters Men's Pro Card!
